Dr Luciana Morilas

Luciana, graduated in Law and also in Language and Linguistics, has a doctorate in Linguistics (2003), and her higher doctorate degree is in Ethics and Business (2020). She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo Business School at Ribeirão Preto (FEA-RP/USP). Her research interest lies in access to justice broadly understood.
She coordinates a research agroup called Habeas Data, that deals with big data in judicial lawsuits. Within this group, she conducts a research on labour lawsuits relating to discrimination against women. She also coordinates research on persons with disabilities and their access to the judicial system.
Methodologically, her agenda connects with empirical legal studies, using jurimetrics and quantitative approaches to interviews as her main tools.
 
 
As part of the project, Luciana will explore oppression against women from an economic violence perspective and will also address violence perpetrated against women with disabilities, focusing on how women are pictured as parties in the different kinds of lawsuits.
