Dr Maria Paula Bertran

Maria Paula is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo RP Law School. Her research interests lie in bank regulation, inequality, and sustainable economic growth.
Methodologically, she has a new agenda concerning big data and legal cases, in both corruption and consummer's rights. Maria Paula is a former Fulbright Chair in Democracy and Human Development (2018) and a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford Law School (2020).
As part of the project, Maria Paula will explore how economic violence against women and coerced debts against women's will play an important role in their (im)mobility during the pandemic.
